The former Chief Executive, Mr Ernest Schmatt PSM who retired in February 2022,  presented the following papers on the Commission’s work:

“Speech: Role of Technology in Improving Judicial Education: The Judicial Commission of NSW Experience” presented at the 7th International Conference on the Training of the Judiciary, Recife, PE. Brazil, 11 November 2015

“Sentencing and technology: the Judicial Information Research System” focuses on the Judicial Commission’s function of assisting courts to achieve consistency in imposing sentences. It was presented at the Community Awareness of the Judiciary Program in Sydney, Australia, 1 October 2015 and the Sentencing Conference 2014: Trends, Tools & Technology in Singapore, 10 October 2014.

“The Judicial Commission of New South Wales” outlines the Commission’s major functions and objectives. It was presented at the Regional Workshop on Judicial Integrity in Southeast Asia: Integrity-based Judicial Reform in Jakarta, Indonesia, 27 January 2012.

“Better Decision Making with Technology – The Judicial Information Research System” describes the content and structure of the Commission’s judicial decision support system. It was presented at the Commonwealth Secretariat South Asian Judges Regional Forum on Economic and Financial Crime in Colombo, Sri Lanka, 15 May 2011.
